My head kinda hurts after watching this movie. I though at first the movie was just too much for me to understand — but I think I was letting myself get sidetracked by my knowledge of the structure of the movie.

I think one needs to go into Adaptation with no preconceptions, no expectations, and keep an open mind. Then I think you’ll see that the movie is really quite conventional. So conventional, that its main character mocks its very conventionality in the movie itself. The character of Charlie Kaufman essentially gives us the road map for the movie, we just don’t know it till the end.
