Saw Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets last night. I’m rather dissapointed with it. The editing and direction seemed siginificantly below the level set by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Even worse, the dialog added to the film was terrible. The whole theater cracked-up on lines like “Oh, I will be!”. I realise the difficulty in translating from books to film, but the portions taken out of this book seemed poorly though out. Hermione and Ron were reduced to non-existant and comedy-relief respectively. Those parts that remiained were poorly tied together. The film felt like a series of clips from the book instead of a cohesive story. I enjoyed it none the less, but I’m hoping Alfonso Cuaron can do better with the next film.
