Thinking about the loss of TV Torrents made me realize that for somone who “doesn’t like to watch TV” and doesn’t have cable (and gets pretty lousy reception) I sure watch a lot of TV.

Current obsessions

Gilmore Girls: Sure the witty banter is just a little too witty, but this show is fantastic.

Farscape: This is our current NetFlix watch-the-whole-series-from-beginning-to-end project.

Stargate: Atlantis: I’m too far behind to watch SG-1, so I thought I would start fresh with Atlantis. Season 1 wasn’t too bad, but we’ll see how things develop.

Battletar Galactica: The best sci-fi show on TV (not that there are many), and possibly one of my favorite shows of all time.

Current not-quite-obsessions

Lost: I like shows where the writers are clearly thinking ahead.

Arrested Development: Painfully funny.

So good we bought the DVD

The Simpsons: Thanks to these DVDs I will soon be able to recite every Simpsons episode from memory (great to watch while doing the dishes).

Futurama: Only volumes 1 and 2 so far.

Previous obsessions

Previous NetFlix projects include Star Trek: Next Generation, Deep Space 9, and Voyager (well, we watched Voyager more out of a sense of duty than anything else).

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: This is the show that got me hooked on BitTorrent.

Firefly: Joss Whedon is my master now.

Smallville: Not as interesting as it once was.

Enterprise: I loved season 3, and parts of season 4 were OK, but I lost interest before we even got to the series finale.

The Amazing Race: Having Rob and Amber on last season (plus the deplorable skill demonstrated by the other teams) has weakened my interest considerably.

Also, cnet recently turned TV Tome (aka IMDb for TV) in TV.com and so far I’m not digging the new site. A lot of info got lost in the transition, the shows are harder to link to (
http://www.tvtome.com/Farscape/
became
http://www.tv.com/farscape/show/1029/summary.html
), and there are a LOT more ads.
